Learner Profile

TEC learners are:

Inquirers - We nurture our curiosity, developing skills for inquiry and research. We know how to learn independently and with others. We learn with enthusiasm and sustain our love of learning throughout life.

Knowledgeable - We develop and use conceptual understanding, exploring knowledge across a range of disciplines. We engage with issues and ideas that have local and global significance.

Thinkers - We use critical and creative thinking skills to analyse and take responsible action on complex problems. We exercise initiative in making reasoned, ethical decisions.

The Tallinn English College Charter of Values

Tallinn English College is a favourable learning environment for our children, the creation and quality of which are guaranteed equally by students, their families as well as the teachers of the school.  For promoting even better environment for development we – families, children, everyone in the school - have common values.

  1. We wish to contribute to the development of our child as a dignified and responsible citizen of the independent Republic of Estonia, who has various interests, broad mental horizon, environmental awareness, is creative, innovative and economical and possesses clear ethical values.

  2. We do everything together and in solidarity. We are active as parents. We contribute both our time, as well as other means, to help achieve our children’s and the school’s goals according to our agreements and possibilities.

  3. Equality and unity are important for us. Everyone must gain equally and contribute according to one’s capabilities and possibilities. We do not stand for any stratification neither in society nor in school.

  4. We value teachers. As a result of common activities we value highly teachers’ work and their contribution and we ensure that our child has good learning environment at home.

  5. No child is left behind. In case someone experiences difficulties, others help the child pass them.

  6. We do everything we can to guarantee the safety of the school environment. We cooperate, talk about problems and worries and find best solutions to them together. We value trustworthy environment, friendly and understanding relations between students, teachers and parents.

  7. Tolerance is highly valued by us.  We instil tolerance and caring for everything alive. There is no place for school violence in our school.

  8. We value children’s health, offer healthy food and active lifestyle. We support establishing as many sporting opportunities as possible and the active usage of our sports hall.

  9. We wish that our children have an excellent command of their mother tongue and that they acquire good knowledge in all subjects. We do our best to maintain the reputation of Tallinn English College as a school teaching the best English in Estonia.
